Covering the impact of coronavirus on the sports world

The eyes of the tennis world will be on Paris beginning on Sunday with the start of the 2022 French Open. A grand slam title is in the balance when play gets underway, and while the men's draw has an unclear hierarchy, that is not the case on the women's side. Iga Swiatek enters as the clear favorite to win her second French Open title after claiming victory in 2020. She is on an active 28-match winning streak, and the betting market reflects her as the clear player to beat.

Swiatek is currently listed as a -120 favorite (risk $120 to win $100) to win the 2022 French Open at Caesars Sportsbook. After Swiatek, 2018 champion Simona Halep is listed at +900 with the second-best odds. Paula Badosa and Ons Jabeur are listed at +1400, and Maria Sakkari is listed at +1600 in the latest French Open 2022 odds. Before making any 2022 French Open picks, be sure to check out the latest tennis predictions from SportsLine's Gavin Mair.

Mair is the international women's tennis expert who called unseeded Jelena Ostapenko (80-1) winning the 2017 French Open, Osaka (32-1) winning the 2018 U.S. Open, Bianca Andreescu (20-1) winning the 2019 U.S. Open, plus many other prescient calls. He also correctly backed Barbora Krejcikova in the 2021 French Open final.

Now, Mair has broken down the latest 2022 French Open women's odds from Caesars and released his coveted best bets. He's sharing all of his expert tennis picks and analysis at SportsLine.

One of Mair's surprising 2022 French Open picks is that he likes the value of Bianca Andreescu. She is listed at 20-1 at Caesars to win the French Open crown, and Andreescu has experience at the highest levels of grand slam tennis. She won the 2019 U.S. Open in dominant fashion, defeating Serena Williams in straight sets in the final and claiming the victory in her first appearance at the event. She became the first Canadian woman to win a grand slam title, and Andreescu has three WTA titles under her belt.

Recently, she took an extended break from tennis, returning in April, and that explains her modest price and unseeded standing in the event. However, Andreescu has shown clear improvement match-by-match since returning, and Mair believes she has tremendous upside. That was on display in a recent win over a top-10 player in Danielle Collins in straight sets, and Andreescu is both versatile and talented, with the ability to mold her game to any opponent.

Mair has locked in his best bets, and they include a 35-1 long shot who would bring huge returns. Mair says this long shot has "an incredible character and winning mindset." You can only find out who it is, and see the rest of Mair's picks and analysis at SportsLine.

So who wins the French Open 2022? And which long shots could take the crown? Visit SportsLine now to see Gavin Mair's bets for the 2022 French Open, all from the tennis expert who has called long shot winners of three grand slam women's titles since 2017, and find out.
