At around 1:30 am on Friday morning, a burglary occurred at the Woods Tennis Center at 401 South 33rd Street, resulting in the arrest of a teenager.

“When the police arrived, they found a broken window and someone had entered the building. The supervisor reported that the office was looted and gift cards, cash and checks were stolen,” said police officer Erin Spilker.

She said they checked the security video, which showed two people entering the building, stealing items and damaging the vending machine. In total, it is estimated that there are 800 US dollars in building damage and undisclosed losses.

On December 11, the police contacted a 16-year-old man during an unrelated service call. The officials determined that this was the same man seen in the video of the burglary.

The teenager was arrested for burglary and possession of thief tools and was transferred to the Youth Service Center. This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or the Fight Crime Hotline at 402-475-3600.
